I think I understand what he's saying- by "
shortcut" he means the
desktop shortcut for TreeDBNotes- when he [double]clicks it to open TDBN, the Welcome dialog appears (as does by default). But he doesn't like that the Welcome dialog now opens up rather than the "
file" just opening directly- which, by "file", I suspect he would be referring to the database- his database- which he was using previously. So iow, he used to just [double]click the desktop shortcut, and TDBN would open up to his usual database- but now, the Welcome Screen appears instead. In order to correct this, he un-checked the "
Show Welcome Dialog" option & closed it out. But
now the problem is that when he ran TreeDBNotes again, it opened to a new/blank database, rather than his own database- and the Welcome Screen/dialog, from which he could choose to open an already existing database, as per his request, no longer appears.

. Sorry...ok:
Jake- from within that new database, you should be able to just go to the
File menu > next, highlight/pause your mouse over
Open > a
submenu should then expand, listing your existing databases-
including which ever one you were using previously. Now just go ahead & select your database. Yay!
If for some reason your database isn't listed in that sub-menu- then, rather than pausing your mouse over
Open, just simply click it- now you can navigate to wherever you think that database is. . . Yay!
